completists or aud fans only
the board of the acoustic set was available before with some filler. then came the second set board. now, we get the whole show from the audience perspective.
i love a good audience tape, and feared that this is such a subtle show that some nuances of the choicest moments would be lost due to ambient noise and crowd whoops. the second set's dreamy opener is one of my favorite 1980 snapshots, everyone spacing out into an 'almost' (taste the rain comes twice, skipping feel the wind) perfect comes a time (defintely one of my favorite versions), and it stands up to this audience recording. in fact, the crowd is perfectly in tune and respectable at this moment and the room sounds great (ah, warfield).
if anything suffers from the audience recording, it's the acoustic set. this is, however, a complete show, with the previously elusive first set, where china->rider features a unique transition jam that finds jerry trying new tactics: sort of a fan approach.
a must have for fans of the warfield-saenger-radio city run.
